New Pastel Payroll & HR upgrade available – 2014 Update 2

Sage Pastel Payroll & HR released a new upgrade today. Pastel Payroll version 2014 Update 2 is available and can be downloaded from http://www.pastelpayroll.co.za. If you have an active internet connection on the PC where Pastel Payroll is installed you will be prompted to download and install the new upgrade next time you access your Payroll & HR application.

The latest upgrade includes a new optional module – Pastel Connect. This module will provide you with risk management tools in the form of employee ID number and bank account validations and verifications. Additional services to perform online credit checks and secure electronic salary payments will also be available once you registered the Pastel Connect module.

Users of the Industrial Councils module will find some enhancements made to transactions and reports specifically for MIBFA and the Electrical Industry Council.

This release is not a crucial upgrade for all users and you may choose to only install the latest version after finalising your current payroll run and PAYE reconciliations due 31 May 2013, unless your situation requires you to apply some of the changes to your current processing period.

    Hi Madelein,

When I try to install, it shows: “1603 General Windows Installer engine error – reinstall windows installer”.

Did any of the other clients have the same error message?

      Hi Dirk

I have asked our Support Department to contact you. The error you received is related to the Installer Package currently available on your Windows operating system. Our consultants will have to confirm which operating system you are using and then assist with either upgrading or re-installing the Installer.
You would have received an email from them requesting your contact details, please respond so they may assist you promptly.

      Regards

      Madelein

    Hi Madelein

The Sage connected update service does not download the update. Tested the connection and it is working.

I contacted Technical Support who advised me that the updates are rolled out in batches and that it should update in the next two weeks.

From your post it seems that the update should be available to all users. I even received a sms regarding the availability of the update.

    Regards

    Jacques

      Hi Jacques

This particular post refers to 2014 Update 2. Our latest release, 2014 Update 2c, is being rolled out to selected customers at first in batches of a couple of hundred per day. We did this to prevent extra pressure on our call centre during the bi-annual reconciliation period. The SMS notification was sent to our Channel Partners to inform them of our release.

Currently, all our customers would have been able to download and install version 2014 Update 2b which was made available to everyone as a Frictionless Update or can be downloaded from http://www.pastelpayroll.co.za.

As soon as 2014 Update 2c is available to everyone, I will update this post or create a new post.

      Regards

      Madelein
