New Release: Pastel Evolution Payroll and HR 2013.00.00

Pastel Evolution Payroll and HR 2013.00.00 is available and can be downloaded on www.pastelpayroll.co.za under Download Latest Software Version.  This update includes the new income tax rates for the 2012/2013 tax year as well as the important conversion of medical aid tax deductions to tax credits.

Please Note If you install this version while your company is in March or later and your employees are not processed, a Medical Aid Tax Credit Conversion and Relink will run.  If your employees are processed, the Medical Aid Tax Credit Conversion and Relink will only run after a Period Close or if you Reset all your employees.

IMPORTANT – Microsoft SQL 2000 Users: Due to the fact that we do not support Microsoft SQL 2000 anymore all Microsoft SQL 2000 Users MUST upgrade to Microsoft SQL 2005 before they upgrade. The new Medical Aid Tax Credits will not work on Microsoft SQL 2000.

Pastel Partner Payroll 2013 Update 1 is available and can be downloaded as a Frictionless Update provided you have installed version 2012 Update 2b. This update includes the new income tax rates for the 2012/2013 tax year as well as the important conversion of medical aid tax deductions to tax credits.

Upgrade patch cannot be installed by Windows: Solution

If you get the above message it is due to the fact that the installer is looking for a missing component.

You will need to uninstall Payroll from your Control Panel and then run the 2012 Update 2b installation again.

I will update this blog as soon as I get a more elegant solution.  The above however seems to resolve the problem.

New Tax Table Release for 2012/2013 – Pastel Partner Payroll 2013 Update 1

Due to significant changes to the way medical aid contributions need to be taxed and the conversion from medical aid deductions based on monthly capped amounts to medical aid tax credits, we have delayed the release of Pastel Partner Payroll 2013 Update 1. We are spending extra time on testing to ensure that the calculations and conversions are as accurate as possible and aligned with the latest legislation effective for the 2012/2013 tax year.
