SARS Commissioner resigns

On Friday, 12 July 2013, SARS published a media statement to announce the resignation of the current Commissioner, Oupa Magashula. He handed in his resignation after an investigation, commissioned by finance minister Pravin Gordhan, found that Mr Magashula acted unethically in his role as SARS Commissioner.

Mr Ivan Pillay has been appointed acting Commissioner until the position is filled through due process.
